50-year old Jamun Yadav, who considers himself to be a demigod of the Hindu faith, believes he can channel and transfer “divine energy” through his feet, which has lead to him standing on the necks and throats of young children suffering from your average run-of-the-mill cold.
There is no evidence in reality, a world in which over 95% of the planets species have gone extinct, a world where fifteen million children a year starve to death, for such a thing as karma. So believers need to posit past and future lives in order to try and make sense of the demented. In so doing, they fuel a belief that has kept hundreds of millions in complete poverty, for thousands of years. The entire caste system in India is at its root, based on karma and that belief has helped perpetuate a level of suffering that is difficult to fathom by those of us fortunate enough to have been born into a first world nation.
The absurdity of religion and the human suffering it produces has to stop. Please reblog if you agree.
